About Coras Antiques & Collectibles
Cora’s Antiques and Collectibles opened in November, 2011 with only a few vendors. Being selective as to the types of items and vendors allowed, there are now over 90 vendors in this unique store! Formerly a real estate office where Dee Wells was an agent, she and husband, Larry, purchased the building, built some booths and opened the shop. It is named for Larry’s mother, Cora, who was a waitress in Mexico during the ‘50’s and ‘60’s. She raised two children alone back when it wasn’t common to do so. Lots of people remember Cora, and there is a picture of her prominently displayed in the shop.
Our motto “where past and present meet” is reflected in the types of merchandise offered for sale in our shop.
Although only 12’ wide, the shop is 91’ long, so there are LOTS of items available. Dee and Larry feel they have the best vendors in the world! They provide customers with products that are diversified and moderately priced. Our vendors keep their booths and shelves stocked with clean, sellable merchandise.
We have a large collection of new and old Case knives that are reasonably priced. Several vendors feature vintage glassware – Depression, Fiesta, Candlewick, and Fostoria – as well as quilts, jewelry, small furniture pieces, pictures, model tractors and farm toys, mirrors, even old Tonka toys.
Cora’s is located one block south of the Village Square in Mexico, MO. You will see the bright yellow and white sign and bench in front. Hours are Wednesday through Friday from 10 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 3:00 pm.
